It's summer time to me!

I know, I know, It's like I've dropped of the face of the earth. But I'm happy to say I'm back!

Finally, This weekend feels like my summer has started! I have been working non-stop on the house. We have renovated almost the whole house in a 2 month time period. Don't get me wrong, we still have lots to do, but we have made a big dent in a short period of time! It's been crazy. We had a shower for my friend Courtney Mc. at my house Sat night, so that gave me a lot of incentive to get as much done as possible. I have literally been working every spare minute I have. You name it, I've attempted it. My birthday was yesterday and it was the 1st day that I just relaxed and did nothing at all to the house! Now, we will just slow down and do the rest when we feel like it! Today I even had a few hours to lay out and read. I haven't read a book since before Reese was born. I love a good book when I'm relaxing, and there has been none of that lately. I got some sun, read a book, and just enjoyed what feels like my first day of summer! (while the babies were napping of course). So here are a few pictures of the first few days of my summer vacation! Let the good times roll!

This is at Babe's Chicken. It's one of my favorite places to eat! It's the best home cooking. Thanks to my mom, I had to do the chicken dance in the lovely hat!

This is the closest I'll get to a pool this summer. This is our "water mountain" aka water fountain. Davis gave it that name. It's so peaceful when it's on, and the water trickling and the smell of chlorine really makes me feel like I'm at a resort. Or at least near a pool! Here's my set up from today. I got some good sun!

Here's the book I started today- Twilight. Everyone has been raving about it, so I finally decided to read it. I didn't see the movie, so I'm gonna see what all the fuss is about. I have read about 100 pages, and so far so good! I'll keep you posted on how it develops.

We bought a new House!

Way too busy to blog! We are in the process of getting our new home ready to move into. Old house, but new to us! It's in the neighborhood I grew up in, so we are literally about a 30 second drive away from my parents. We closed Friday morning, and have been painting, ripping, tearing, & refinishing every surface in the house. It's going to be a long week with hard days & late nights until we move in for good. We are moving in on Sat! Hopefully then I can have time to share some pics & more news! Don't count on it though! I still be busy with unpacking! Say a prayer for us!

Reese was 5 months old on Monday. She is doing great! She is sitting up better & better. She and Davis are starting to have more fun together. She sure loves to watch him! She is on a new 4 hour schedule & is doing great. We are going to start baby cereal this weekend. She's growing up so fast. We love our little Reesie!

Free Time

I have a few free minutes & I have so many things I need to be doing, besides being on the computer! I am very blessed to be able to stay at home with my little ones. I love being with them every day! At the same time, I've always dreamed about having a home business to sell things I love to make! I love to make blankets, design clothing or anything crafty. I had the opportunity to start a small business with a friend of mine. Carrie C. has started a website called kutiepatootiecouture.com. It's adorable! She sales children's tutus, hairbows, and other accessories. I make , quilts, shirts & picture frames for the website. I love to do it, but lately I don't have a lot of time. I'm hoping I can figure out a schedule that will work for me, so I can make things weekly. I need more time than 10 min here & there. So I've just now used 10 min of free time to vent about how I wish I had more time! Here are a few of my creations.

Here's another update. I can't believe it's been a month & I haven't blogged at all. Here is Reese @ 4 months (Feb 16). She weighs 14 lb, 4 oz. She is doing well, expect for an ear infection at the moment. She is all smiles most of the time & still loves to watch her big brother do anything. Davis tried to pick her up the other day. He got her about 6 inches off the ground and then decided he was done holding her, so he just dropped her on her back. She didn't like that at all & it scared me to death. I think it scared her more than anything. We are going to have to keep a close watch when he's around. He is starting to think he can handle her more & more! It's very sweet though. She is determined to sit up & tries all the time. She usually ends up on her stomach from pulling forward. She such a strong little girl!Here is Reese after trying to sit up. Here's our little angel update. Reese is 3 months old today. She's doing great. She weighs 12 lbs 1 oz. She is very strong and is starting to try and sit up. She's babbling up a storm! She's super happy & all smiles unless her tummy hurt :( Davis is starting to interact with her more, now that she notices him. He loves to try & tickle her!

Reese was officially 1 month old on Sunday. She is doing great. She is a very sweet baby girl. She's is already growing like a weed. It's scary how fast she is growing. She's our little sweetheart!

New Do!

Look what I did! On Thursday I got a new look. I have had blond hair my whole life, but have always wanted to try something dark. I could never bring myself to do it. Until now. David always said he didn't want my hair darker & and then finally last week he said go for it. So here's my new hair. It is a dark chocolate brown, but almost looks black right now. I really like it, but I'm still shocked every time I pass a mirror.
There's also a few pictures of my sweet babies. They are both doing great! Reese is 1 month old. I can't believe she already that old. She is eating really well & weighs 8 lb 13 oz. She's such a little doll!

It's been 2 weeks & 6 days since our little girl made her debut. Here what happened!

We got to the hospital around 1:30 on Oct 16. They started me on Pitocin around 2:30. Things were moving along pretty well and contraction were steady & somewhat mild. I had every intention of getting my epidural before things got too intense, but I didn't act fast enough!!! While I was up going to the restroom, my water broke on it own. That was around 6:00pm. From that point on, things got a little rough. It took a little while for them to get the epidural there & then 4 pokes in the spine before they got it in the right way. The epidural itself was very painful, on top of the worst contractions ever. The pitocin sure did make a difference. It was not that bad with Davis. After the epidural was in, it took another hour before, I felt some relief. After about an hour & a half of torture (that was well worth it), things got better!!! :) Reese was ready to meet us. We were getting set up to push & She didn't want to wait. It took 1 contraction & 3 pushes and she was here! She was a super easy delivery! We were so happy to meet our little girl. Here are a few pictures of us in the hospital, on her birthday, and the days following. We love our little Reese Elizabeth!

Happy Halloween from my little Pumpkin & big Gorilla. We have had so much fun with our new addition. Davis loves his sister so much. He wants to hold Reese all the time. I'm so proud of him. He's done so great with such a big change. I'll update more later. Keep checking back.

Baby Girl Wright is on the way!!!! I had an appointment this morning. I am dilated to a 4 and very thin. My blood pressure is a little bit high. The Dr. thinks I will probably go into labor within a few days anyway, so just to be safe, he wants to get things started so we don't have to worry about preclamsia (high blood pressure). He's also a little worried about her size. We're going to the hospital today around 1:00. We'll get things started & see what happens from there. I'll keep you all posted. We may have our little baby girl by tonight! Please keep us in your prayers!

38 weeks & counting. I'm 38 weeks today. I guess I'm gonna get to experience what it feels like to carry a baby a full pregnancy. No sign of Baby Girl Wright. We are so anxious to meet her, and she seems very content to just hang out. I still have not had any more contractions. I go back to the Dr. on Thursday, so I'll keep you posted!

We went to the park on Sunday & met some friends after church. It was so nice to see everyone. Davis had a good time playing football & playing on the playground.

Latest Dr. Visit!

I went to the Dr. today. They did a sonogram to see how big our little girl is. She is big for 37 weeks, but not "abnormally big". That makes me feel better.
Also, I am not dilated any more than last week. Still 3 cm. He did a stress test on the baby, because her movements have decreases a little, but that turned out looking good too! We may repeat it again on Friday.
So, I'm thinking, that she's going to stay in for a little while longer. I don't feel like anything is going on & I haven't had anymore contractions since I stopped the medicine. I think we've got a few more weeks. We were so worried that we wouldn't get past 36 weeks, and now we may go all the way to 40 weeks. :) We are so ready to meet her, & we hope she comes soon. I'll keep you posted!

37 Weeks!

Today I'm 37 weeks prego! That was the goal, so we've made it!!!! I am no longer taking the medication to stop labor. I stopped it yesterday, and so far no signs of labor at all. She may have decided that she's cozy & doesn't want to come out. I may be in for the long haul. Yesterday I felt horrible & I thought I might be getting close to the end, but today I feel pretty good again! Only God knows when she's coming, so we'll just wait patiently. I sure would like to meet her soon though! I go to the Dr. tomorrow, so I'll let you know the latest then!

Latest Baby Girl Update! 10/2/08

I'm 36 weeks & 2 days! That is an accomplishment! Davis was born at 36 weeks 2 days exactly, so we have at least made it past that important date. I had an appointment this morning and I'm dilated 3 cm. Steady progress, but the medicine is working, and he wants me to keep taking it until 37 weeks. It's funny that I didn't think I was having contractions, but since I have started these meds, that mysterious pain is gone for the most part. So, once again, I obviously don't know what I'm looking for. Just like when Davis was born! Just a few more days of this medication & then we will just let nature take it's course. He said it could be any time. He's hoping we can get to next week though. Next Wed, I have a sonogram scheduled to measure & give us an idea of how big she will be. We are getting so excited to meet our little girl. We are getting the nursery done little by little. We only have a few finishing touches to add. Once we have a name, I'll add that above her crib. Baby Girl Update!

Today I'm 35 weeks & 2 days. I went to the Dr. this morning. It looks like things are starting to happen! Very exciting, but still a little too early. I'm dilated 2 cm & my cervix is thinning. I have what you would call a "weak cervix". He doesn't want this little girl coming this early. Because my cervix is weak, he has put me on a medication to stop contractions. As far as I know I haven't had any contractions yet, but judging from my track record, I may not even know if I have or not. I have definitely had pain, but I can't pinpoint it as being a "contraction". He doesn't want contractions to break my water. So I will take the meds for 2 weeks to try and slow the process down a little. He really wants me to get to 37 weeks. I'll update you again after next weeks appointment, or before if she decided to come sooner. Please keep her & I in your prayers. We want a precious healthy baby girl!

On Saturday, Davis got to wear his new pair of overalls. Actually, they are a very very old pair of overalls. These have been in David's family for about 35 years. All the boy's in David's family have worn them & then passed them down to the next. David wore them when he was about 2 years old (1979). We have counted and Davis will be the 10th little boy in the family to wear them. They are very worn & rusted at the straps, but that just gives them character! Davis got to go on a special trip in his new "old" overalls. We went to McDonald's for his 1st happy meal. I think he enjoyed it, but It think his Daddy enjoyed it more. So, we will have these special overalls in our family, until a new Wright comes along. Then they will be passed down, for that little boy to enjoy!

Baby Girl Update!

I went to the Dr. yesterday. I was 33 weeks 2 days. He did the same test that he's done the last 3 times. I got a call today and the swab test came back neg for preterm labor. The other test showed that things are still looking pretty good also. I am dilated a little more, but not thinned out much more than last time! He said to "Keep this little girl in", so that's what I intend to do! He will do the same tests in another 2 weeks (35 weeks) and then the testing will stop. At that point, I'll be one week away from when I delivered with Davis. He said he doesn't want her to come any sooner than that. Keep her in your prayers & I'll keep you posted!

Labor Day Weekend

I'm posting this a little late, but here are a few picture of our Labor Day weekend. We had a great time. Davis did a little swimming & a little golfing! We also worked on some projects for the baby's room. The picture is of the cornice board & drapes we made to match her bedding. It was a family affair. My dad, mom, David & Davis all pitched in to help! Just one step closer to getting our little girl's room finished!

Baby Girl Update

I went to the Dr. yesterday. I was 31 weeks on Tuesday. He has been a little concerned about me delivering early again. Davis delivered a month early @ 36 weeks. He says if this little girl come that soon, she should be fine, but he doesn't want her trying to come any earlier! So we have been doing special testing to see it I might be at risk for preterm labor. So far, so good! I do not have the results for this test back yet, but he wants to do the test again in 2 weeks. I was dilated about 1 cm at 28 weeks and I'm already thinning a little, so he's being very cautious. I'm glad! If it's anything like when Davis was ready, there will be no warning signs. I woke up in the middle of the night an was in labor. Just like that. No Braxton Hicks, or pre labor signs. And silly me, tried to think of every other possibility it could be besides true labor. That's why I waited almost 20 hours to go to the hospital! I go back in 2 weeks and I'll have another update then!
Oh yeah, I had him double check to make sure it's still a girl!!!! :) I guess I still can't believe we're really having a baby girl.

The First Cut!

Finally, I had to give in and take Davis for his first haircut. I took Davis today to his Aunt Peppy (actually my Aunt Peggy). She did such a good job and Davis did pretty good too. She didn't cut too much, which made mommy very happy. Just enough to get rid of the mad scientist look. He was a little scared of the big chair so he sat in my lap. As long as he was eating crackers he seemed to be OK. He got upset a few times from looking into the mirror, but nothing too dramatic. I know it's not much of a change, but we can always cut again. He looks so handsome. Here are a few pictures. I have more pictures of the actual cutting on mom's camera that I will post later. So, here's my little boy's cute new do!

Jaxon's Sleepover

My 5 year old nephew Jaxon was supposed to sleep over at our house last night. We had been planning a sleepover for a while and since school is starting next week (Kindergarten), we decided to do it this weekend. It was pretty fun! We went to Pizza Inn in Midlothian to eat & then we came back to the house and had dessert (cereal straws). We played outside for the rest of the night & the 3 neighborhood cats that kept him busy for most of the time. He also found our resident toad in his usual spot. Jaxon loved it! At about 9 we went in to get ready for bed, and that's when Jaxon decided he would rather not stay for the "whole" night. So at 9:15 we were in the car on the way to Nana's house. He said, "I just like sleeping at Nana's house better," so that's where Jaxon slept for our sleepover!

New Nursery!

We finally set up the new baby bed. It's unreal that we have two bedrooms in the house that are nurseries! Davis is not quite ready to move into a big boy bed, so we just went ahead and got another crib. Thank goodness they both convert to toddler beds, so we can use them much longer! I think that seeing the bed up is helping me to realize that our baby girl is coming soon. David jokes that we don't want to finish this nursery too soon, because I went into labor at 4 am the night we finished Davis' nursery! So we may take our time on this one!!! Here are a few pictures of the progress we've made. Davis has been a big help with putting the bed together & testing it out for us. He sure thinks all of this is fun now!!!! I hope he still thinks that when this little girl get here!

Baby Girl's Sprinkle

So sorry it's taken so long to update my blog!!! I don't have a good excuse why I haven't.
This Saturday I had a "Sprinkle" in honor of our upcoming baby girl. If you've never heard of a sprinkle, it's a light shower! Instead of a full on baby shower, it's just a light rain, hence the name, "sprinkle"! No registering or big items this time, since I just went through all of this less than 2 years ago. It was a lot of fun. I got a lot of adorable baby girl things. Mostly clothes, blankets and accessories! It was so unreal to see all of those girlie things and know that they were for me. I still don't think it's fully set in that we are having a little girl. It's what I've always wanted. A little boy to be the big brother, and a sweet little sister for him! We are so excited. I will post some pictures of how the nursery is coming along later.

Thanks to all that helped make my sprinkle so special! I appreciate all the goodies & I know Baby girl Wright will too!

How to keep Cool!

I guess Davis has figured out how to keep cool on these hot summer days! It's a pretty good idea. This heat is killing me!!!! I know everyone is hot, but I think this pregnancy makes me Triple hot. And I don't mean good lookin! I'm not sure why being pregnant has that effect, but it does. I can't stand to even walk through a parking lot from the car to the store right now. I usually love the summer and typically don't mind the sun at all. This summer, I'm ready to call it quits. I'm ready for Fall!!!! Bring it on. Anyway, if things stay the way they have been, I'll probably be trying Davis' idea. Feel free to try it yourself as well. In your own fridge, of course!

Davis has the cutest curly hair, & we just love it. Until now, it's been very manageable and adorable. Lately, I've been getting pressure from some of the men in our family to cut it! For a while I thought there was really no need, since it just keeps getting curlier and curls up to his little head. Lately, it's been getting a little wild though! He sometimes looks like a mad scientist. David called him Albert Einstein the other day. It's killing me to think that we may have to actually cut it (trim it) soon. As for now I'm going to hold off and see how much longer we can make it! He's 16 months old and hasn't had a hair cut yet. It seems we're a little behind schedule, since his best friend Kooper has already had 2 and he's only 6 months old!!!

To Cleanse or not to Cleanse?

For the past few weeks my husband, David, has been wanting to try this crazy "Master Cleanse" diet. He had good intentions and really wanted to do it to be healthier & "cleanse" himself. Not just to loose weight, like most women would do. Anyway, I thought it sounded crazy, and tried to talk him out of it. Lemon juice, maple syrup, cayenne pepper, & water is what the mixture is made of. Yuck! This diet consist of only that mixture for 10 days. I think he was determined to see what his body could handle more than anything.

Saturday was the big day. He went and bought all the ingredients which ended up costing more than we thought, due to the special syrup. But, I guess since he would not be eating anything else for 10 days, we would actually save some $ this week. Saturday morning he started it and seemed to be very excited at the challenge! Saturday afternoon, things were going pretty good. Saturday night, Davis & I went out to eat with my family and left David at home nursing a headache. By the time we got home (8:00) the diet was over! And I think that one day was cleansing enough. I actually think it's a little funny, but I would never say "I told you so". Well maybe I would!

So I guess the answer is....Not to Cleanse. Or maybe just cleanse a little, Like for one day!

Today David & I have been married 4 wonderful years! I can't believe how time flies. With Davis & a baby on the way, this anniversary wasn't quite like the others.

3rd Anniversary: Romantic dinner at Truluck's Steakhouse

I hope things don't go downhill from here. I'm not sure where else it could go! The real excitement is just knowing that we have had 4 wonderful years & many more to come. That's all that really count, Right!

Precious Moment...

Today while sitting with Davis in our rocking chair, I was thinking how precious these moments are right now. Davis is 16 months old and being his mom is more wonderful than I ever could have imagined! He's so great & every month that he gets older, seems to get better & better. I loved the baby baby stage, and now I'm loving this stage. I can't even begin to imagine how the next stage will go. Which make me think about our new arrival coming in October. In case you didn't know, we are thrilled to be adding a little baby girl to our family! If I really think about it and let myself simmer on it, I can get worked up about this new baby & Davis- meaning that I am a little anxious as to how I will handle my baby boy & a new baby girl at the same time. It's a little bit unsettling sometimes when I try to imagine different scenarios with 2 little ones. Just as I was sitting in the rocking chair this morning, thinking about that same thing, my precious baby boy had drifted off to sleep. He was getting comfortable & rolling over towards me, when my unborn baby girl kicked and rolled at the same time. What a precious moment. I have one precious baby in my arms, one precious baby in my belly, and I'm feeling them at the same time. As I looked down at my little love bugs, I couldn't be more amazed at how God works in our lives. I knew that everything would be fine and this new chapter in our lives would lead to many more precious moments such as this. The plans he has for us are truly amazing and I can't wait to see what else he has in store for our family. That one precious moment on an ordinary Saturday morning, will always live in my mind, as one of the sweetest times of my life. I know I'll still remember it, when my babies are gone and starting families of their own. These time are truly precious moment & I know there's more to come...

Wow, How easy was that?!?!?!?! Setting up this blog took me about 2 minutes. Now I can see what all the hoopla is about! I've been meaning to do this for a while now, so here it goes...

Thank goodness for peer pressure. Because all of my friends have one, I had to join in too. It will be a nice way to share what's happening in our lives. Check back for updates on the fam and reports on our baby girl that's on the way! Gotta run for now.
